I can't believe it's been a year!

Kortnee turned one on July 21st! I can't believe it's been a year. She is so freaking funny! She says Ma ma, da da, uh oh, hi, dog, and bird. She also does a little sign language. She signs "more", "all done" "thank you" and "fish". She is walking all over the place....make that running all over the place! She was taking quite a few steps right before her birthday, then it was like she just decided, "ok I am one now, I guess I will walk." She literally took off on her birthday! She got sick for the first time around her birthday too. Double ear infections. First time on antibiotics in a year though...I thought that was pretty amazing. When we went for her check up she was 21 1/2 lbs and 30 1/2 inches. So that makes her in the 97% for height and 50% for weight. She has really thinned out. She is so amazing and makes me smile everyday! Even when she is being a hand full (which she is alot) she is just too funny! My mom told someone that we spell her name KORTNEE and that it totally fits her. Nothing ordinary or plain about it and a little crazy! We love Kortnee so much and can't imagine our lives without her! Happy Birthday baby girl!

Lagoon

We got an opportunity to go to lagoon as a family. My mom went with us so that she could watch Kortnee. Thanks Grandma!! The place was packed since it was the first nice day without rain that we have had. Here are some pics.

Crazy little girl!

So for about a week after Kortnee learned to pull herself up with ease she refused to nap(she has been sort of doing it forever, but now is really good at it). Everytime we laid her in her bed, she immediately stood up. I would go in there to make her lay down and she would just laugh at me and stand up again! Anyway, in one of these sessions she must have exhausted herself just enough that she fell asleep sitting up! She is bent completely in half...crazy little girl! She wouldn't dare lay down or sleep might have just overcome her. Here are a few pictures. It was dark in her room and after a week with struggling with naps, I didn't dare wake her with a flash, so they are pretty dark.

With Help From Above

So my friend Janene's son Bryce was saying prayers with the family and prayed for my garden. He is so funny, he says "your welcome" for things, instead of "thank you". Anyway, during his prayer he said, "and your welcome for all this rain so that Amy does not have to water her vegetables." Well Bryce, THANKS I think it worked! Here are a few pictures of how our vegetables are doing so far.

Tiny little cucumbers (there are tons of these)

Last but not least my little green tomatoes!

Time to re-arrange

So last week I thought that Kortnee was taking a nap when Zachary and I heard a funny clicking sound....she was standing up in her crib and flipping the light on and off. Now she does it any chance she gets. Guess we will be re-arranging her room so her crib isn't by the light switch anymore. She has been pulling herself to standing for a couple of weeks, but only if she was doing it on Jon's hands, or mine....well now she is confident enough to do it by herself up to the couch or crib or whatever. She is also finally crawling. It is more of an army crawl....but it gets the job done. She gets on her hands and knees and then digs in with her toes and pulls her hands on the carpet....she is so funny! Her personality is sure shining through more than ever! She is also quite the mama's girl. Everytime I walk in the room she is crying for me to pick her up and she says, Mama. She also says Dada, and she knows that a dog says, "oof" and she says "bird" when she sees one fly by or hears one. She is so stinkin cute!!!

How does your garden grow?

So we are trying our first attempt at a garden this year. For those of you who know my dad, you know he is a FARMER! So I got all my tips and plants from him. I just hope I can live up to his expectations. We started planting kind of late in the day, but I really wanted to finish, so after we put the kids to bed, we went back out with a spot light to finish. So we actually got done around midnight! HA HA! Wish me luck!

Swinging

I told Jon that I wanted to get a swing set for our backyard. He thought that Kortnee was too young for it, and Zachary was too old for it. Well I took them to the park and Kortnee LOVES to swing. Also my mom was telling me that when Zachary was younger and she would babysit, she would take him to the park and he would always say, "I do my best thinking in the swing." So how about it Daddy....can we get a swing set???
